This class will deliver all the requirements necessary for success in internal auditing for you and your team.

Although no special software is required to attend online, those wishing to attend online will need to have access to a computer with a built-in camera or an add-on USB camera so that you can fully interact with the instructor. Online attendees must register for the online class on the UT CIS website in order to receive connection information. This allows people to attend the class while avoiding the time and costs of traveling. UT CIS will offer this course in an interactive online format for all classes scheduled in the Nashville CIS Training Room. This training class is focused on developing internal auditing capability for your company. This is an interactive workshop designed for individuals assigned to conduct process audits for the new ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) standard. It is likely your company already has at least some systems in place, especially if you are already ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 registered. Learning about the standard and its requirements is an important first step for anyone looking to develop and implement an ISO 45001 OSHMS. UT CIS offers ISO 45001 Overview training and ISO 45001 Lead Auditor training. ISO 45001 was published in March 2018 and is in effect now. If you are a contractor or supplier to a company that is certified to ISO 45001 there is a good chance you will be required to establish and implement an ISO 45001 for your company. The expected benefits of ISO 45001 implementation include reducing work-related injuries and illnesses, identifying and eliminating risks and hazards, improving OH&S performance, establishing an OHSMS, demonstrating top management commitment, and motivating and engaging workers through consultation and participation. Companies who currently comply with OHSAS 18001 have three years (until March 2021) to migrate to the new ISO 45001 standard. This new international standard focuses on an interrelated-process approach to identify and manage the system’s interactions. It was published in 2018 and establishes requirements for any organization that wishes to establish, implement, and maintain an OHSMS to improve OH&S, eliminate hazards and minimize risks, take advantage of improvement opportunities and address OH&S management system non-conformities associated with its activities. ISO 45001:2018 is a global occupational health and safety management systems (OHSMS) standard.
